The Cow Peace

The morning wore a blanket gray,
Its light concealed, yet calm the day.
The air was thick, the sky hung low,
Yet heaven still had room to show.

I drove beside a quiet field,
Where God had left a truth concealed.
No frantic rush, no hurried race,
Just cows at rest in peaceful grace.

They did not worry, strive, or chase,
Nor try to win life's endless race.
They simply lay beneath the sky,
Content to let the hours pass by.

While traffic flowed with anxious speed,
Each heart consumed by urgent need,
Those silent teachers seemed to say,
"You don't have to run today."

Tomorrow holds what God has planned,
It rests within His faithful hand.
Why carry burdens not your own,
When every need to Him is known?

Creation preached without a word,
A better sermon than I'd heard.
The pasture whispered, soft and deep,
"There is a time to rest and sleep."

So, Lord, when life becomes a race,
Lead me back to pasture's grace.
Teach me, like that quiet herd,
To trust completely in Your Word.

For peace is not found running fast,
Nor chasing shadows that won't last.
It lives within the Shepherd's voice...
And every day, I choose His peace.
