Years ago,
driving unfamiliar roads,
I turned right,
then left,
then right again.
A house stood quietly
along the roadside.
Then it appeared again.
My wife said,
"We have passed here before."
I smiled with certainty.
"All the houses look alike."
Yet a few turns later
I discovered the truth—
we were driving in circles.
How much of life
looks the same?
The months race by
like runaway trains.
One burden leaves
and another arrives.
Different calendar.
Different day.
Same weight.
Same struggle.

Pain is a master of disguise.
It changes its clothing
and introduces itself
by another name.
Regret.
Anger.
Fear.
Withdrawal.
Exhaustion.
A smile hiding sorrow.
A laugh hiding loneliness.
Clouds gather
inside my thoughts,
and the sun seems distant.
Yet through the darkness
a gentle voice remains.
"I have you."
"Keep your eyes on Me."
"Missed exits are not the end."
And so I continue forward,
trusting the road
I cannot fully see.
For every disguise
eventually falls away,
and every circle
must come to an end.
Grace waits patiently
to lead me home.
